FAQ's

  • Q: Who Should Be Measured?
    • A: Anyone experiencing the effects of stress, this is likely to be 99% of the population. Those at high risk include astronauts, pilots, cabin crew and frequent flyers. Anyone who has been diagnosed with degenerative diseases such as heart disease, joint and bone diseases, allergies and other diseases of the immune system should consider being measured. The support we offer has shown to minimise unpleasant side effects of chemotherapy, improve dental health and improve sports performance and athletic endurance. Those who are overweight and who have difficulty losing weight may wish to be measured in order to determine their efficiency to burn fat. If their test indicates that this function is impaired then a weight loss diet is likely to be ineffective.

  • Q: What will the results of my test indicate?
    • A: You will be given a summary of your current status on a scale of 1-10. 1-3 is normal and indicates good cellular health. Between 4-7 suggest varying degrees of maladaptation. Those who have readings between 8-10 are failing to adapt. The results report will also indicate the status of your sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system. This system is also known as the master regulator of metabolism. It controls all the involuntary activities that we are not consciously aware of such as heart rate, breathing and digestion. Your body is designed to always maintain homeostasis (balance) and this is achieved by a complex series of signals sent from the hypothalamus in the brain to the organs, glands and systems of the body. If the receptor sites become desensitised, or the stress load is too great for the capacity of the body, then a loss of homeostasis and failure to adapt can result. We cannot control the actions of the ANS with thought, and even if we could, we couldn’t know with certainty what the body requires at any given time.

Your test result will also provide information about your cardiovascular centre, the efficiency of your immune, endocrine, hormonal systems and your ability to adapt to stressors, together with the total power of these regulatory systems that is available to the body. This measurement of total power is useful to understand for those who may feel depleted of energy, or those who have struggled to lose weight. Your stress index is also measured. All of your readings can be compared to accepted normal readings which will help to increase your understanding.

  • Q: I would like to be tested. What’s the next step?
    • A: Just use the contact link to request information to be sent to you about appointments. You will be sent a medical history questionnaire to complete and bring to your appointment.

  • Q: How much does a HRV test and consultation cost?
    • A: A Heart Rate Variability Analysis test and consultation at the clinic takes up to 30 minutes and the fee is £60.00.

An optional personalised dietary programme can be designed for you and if this is requested then please allow an additional 30-minutes for your appointment time.

  • Q: What if I don’t live close to the clinics?
    • A: Telephone consultations can sometimes be arranged by taking a HRV test with a practitioner who is closer to your location and then sending your results report prior to setting up a good time to talk through your results and personalised food programme on the telephone. Please use the contact link to request details of a local HRV practitioner. A local HRV practitioner will charge £25 for this test.
  • Q: Will I be recommended supplements?
    • A: Just two supplements are used in the practice. These help to support cell regeneration and efficiency and immune enhancement. Not everyone is offered supplements but if they are indicated, based on the results of your HRV analysis, then there will be an additional charge. The supplements that we use were developed for, and are used by, the Mars Project 500 astronauts under the direction of the medical and science professionals based at the Moscow Space Medical Centre. Astronauts are exposed to large amounts of cosmic radiation from the sun. This causes their bodies to age internally 8 years for every year on earth. Pilots and cabin crew are also at increased risk and their bodies can age internally at twice the rate of those who are rarely exposed to cosmic radiation.

  • Q: Can the supplements be taken by professional athletes?
    • A: Yes. The contents of the supplements are approved for use in professional sports. Tests have shown improvement in sports performance, endurance and in training recovery.

  • Q: What make these supplements so effective?
    • A: The contents of both supplements are well known and widely available. However, it is the production method, known only to Prof. Baevsky and Dr. Kucera M.D. that enhances the effectiveness of regeneration on the mitochondria. This effect cannot be achieved by taking the isolates.

  • Q: When will I feel better?
    • A: The *Rejuvenation Period* lasts between 12-20 weeks on average.
Stage 1 of the Rejuvenation period is referred to as the, “Activation Phase” and takes between 3-6 weeks.
Stage 2 is the, “Hormonal-Metabolic Phase” and takes between 4-6 weeks.
Stage 3 is the, “Transitory Phase”, and lasts, on average, for 3-4 weeks.

Each of these stages and what you may expect are explained to you at each consultation.

The, “Stabilisation Phase” is usually achieved within 12-20 weeks and it is at this point that the body can start the rebuilding and functional restructuring of the homeostatic regulatory control systems. At this stage you may be advised to re-test in 6 months or even 12 months.
This is general overview and it’s important to bear in mind that each person is a totally unique individual.

  • Q: Do I need to be re-tested?
    • A: Follow-up re-testing and consultations are usually indicated every 6-8-weeks during the first 12-20 weeks. If supplements are being used then the dosages may be adjusted or reduced in line with your current HRV reading resuts. Once you have completed the regeneration process you may wish to test 1-2 times per year.

  • Q: Can I continue taking my medications and other supplements?
    • A: You must not alter medications prescribed by your doctor and it is important to inform your doctor of what you are taking so that he is kept fully informed. He can adjust or reduce your medications as he sees fit.

Additional supplements are not required with this programme and some may even be contraindicated. Please check at the time of your appointment.

  • Q: Has this method of HRV been studied?
    • A: Yes. The methods of evaluation and support offered are based on large-scale Russian studies conducted over the last 20 years on diverse groups of 20,000 people. The supplements we use were developed for, and are used by, the Mars Project 500 astronauts under the direction of the medical and science professionals based at the Moscow Space Medical Centre. Astronauts are exposed to large amounts of cosmic radiation from the sun. This causes their bodies to age internally 8 years for every year on earth. Pilots and cabin crew are also at risk and their bodies can age internally at twice the rate of those who are rarely exposed to cosmic radiation.

  • Q: Does the HRV test diagnose or treat specific medical conditions?
    • A: No. Mitochondrial therapy does not diagnose or treat diseases. Mitochondrial therapy is designed to retain and/or to regenerate cell function to the maximum potential. This provides a platform for the body to rebuild health from the cellular level, which in turn has a positive effect on the organs glands and systems of the body. This approach is altogether different from the allopathic treatment of symptoms. The reason why is because symptoms are not the core of the problem. Symptoms are the visible expressions of the underlying problem. At the heart of the problem is the efficiency or inefficiency of the cells to repair and rebuild, to produce energy, and to perform all the natural activities of cellular metabolism. Quality of life is greatly impaired without energy.

Understanding your personal HRV results reading can indicate the degree of lost adaptation and cellular efficiency to the extent where adverse symptoms may already be present. You may be advised to talk to your G.P if this is appropriate for you. Mitochondrial therapy does not replace conventional medicine but supports it. For example, it can reduce unpleasant side effects of some medications and prevent complications that can sometimes develop with disease such as diabetes or cardiovascular disease.

Mitochondrial therapy works on the premise that the human body has the most amazing capacity to heal itself, but in order to do so it requires the right tools for the job.

  • Q: I have a serious medical diagnosis. Is it possible to be tested and consult with a medical doctor?
    • A: Yes. There are many medical doctors practicing HRV who have been taught by the internationally known and highly regarded Czech medical doctor Michael Kucera. Dr. Kucera M.D. was awarded the International Mitochondrial Medicine Association (IMMA) prize in 2000. He alone is responsible for introducing the state of the art Russian HRV work to the UK. Sheri Dixon assists Dr. Kucera when he visits the U.K. To reserve a personal appointment with Dr. Kucera on his next visit please use the appointment request link on the contact page.
